The 2026 Actor Awards: "Sinners" and "The Studio" Take Top Honors

The 2026 Actor Awards, formerly known as the Screen Actors Guild Awards and presented by SAG-AFTRA, announced its nominations on Wednesday and held its ceremony on Sunday, March 1, 2026, in Los Angeles.

The event, which streamed live on Netflix, recognized achievements in film and television performances. "Sinners" received the award for Outstanding Performance by a Cast in a Motion Picture, while "The Studio" earned the award for Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Comedy Series.

Ceremony Details

The 2026 Actor Awards ceremony took place on Sunday, March 1, 2026, in Los Angeles, streaming live on Netflix at 8 p.m. ET/5 p.m. PT. Kristen Bell hosted the star-studded event.

Actor Harrison Ford received the SAG-AFTRA Life Achievement Award, presented by Woody Harrelson. Nominations were announced live in Los Angeles on Wednesday by Janelle James and Connor Storrie. For audiences in Australia, the ceremony began around 12:00 PM AEDT on March 2.

The awards are determined by votes from over 160,000 SAG-AFTRA members.

They are frequently considered an indicator for the Academy Awards, as actors constitute the largest voting body within the Motion Picture Academy. Historically, the Actor Awards' ensemble prize has aligned with the Academy Awards Best Picture winner in 15 out of 30 years, and there is a strong correlation for individual acting categories.

These included nominations for acting ensemble, stunt ensemble, lead actor (Leonardo DiCaprio), lead actress (Chase Infiniti), supporting actress (Teyana Taylor), and two supporting actor nominations (Sean Penn, Benicio Del Toro).
