Background

Queen Elizabeth II was born on April 21, 1926. She became heir apparent at age 10 after the abdication of her uncle, Edward VIII, and ascended to the throne in 1952 at age 25. Her reign of 70 years was the longest in British history. She died in September 2022 at the age of 96.
