Royal Family to Gather for Queen Elizabeth II's 100th Birthday Tribute
Buckingham Palace has announced that the British royal family will gather for special celebrations to honor the life of Queen Elizabeth II on the occasion of what would have been her 100th birthday.
The announcement was made on April 19, with King Charles expected to deliver a speech on April 21, paying tribute to his mother. Other engagements involving family members are also planned.
"This coming week, we will remember the life of Queen Elizabeth II, 100 years on from her birth. Her Majesty lived through an extraordinary period in world history. As Monarch, she comforted the nation in difficult times and was often at the centre of celebrations and moments of national pride. We look back at some of the historic events which marked her reign, and made her a constant in many of our lives."
The royal family shared a video showcasing key moments from the late Queen's reign, highlighting her decades of service.
The Palace announcement followed Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's return to Montecito, California, after completing a tour in Australia.
