Iran Rules Out New Talks with U.S., Accuses Washington of Not Being Serious

Iran has stated it has no plans for a new round of talks with the United States, according to comments made by a foreign ministry spokesperson during a press conference.

Esmail Baghaei, the spokesperson, was reported by Al Jazeera as saying that "it seems that America is not serious at all," and that the U.S. is "always accusing" Iran.

"This game is ongoing instead of them playing a positive role," Baghaei said, characterizing the diplomatic situation.

Background of the Strained Relations

The comments come amid reports that preparations were underway in Islamabad, Pakistan, for a second round of negotiations between the two nations.

The relationship between Iran and the United States has been in a state of conflict since a military attack on Iran by the United States and Israel in February.
