Body of Missing 14-Year-Old Found in Tesla's Front Trunk

The remains of Celeste Rivas Hernandez, a 14-year-old reported missing in April 2024, were discovered in a cadaver bag inside the front trunk of a Tesla. The discovery was made the day after what would have been her 15th birthday.

The vehicle was registered to an address in Texas associated with the artist D4vd, according to court documents.

Background

Celeste Rivas Hernandez was a first-generation daughter of immigrant parents from El Salvador. She lived approximately 75 miles (120 km) from the location where her body was found and was a seventh-grade student.

According to the Los Angeles Times, neighbors described her as a girl who frequently visited a local corner store.

Family and Community

In late 2024, her family initiated a fundraiser for funeral expenses, describing Celeste as "a beloved daughter, sister, cousin, and friend."
