The Oklahoma City Thunder defeated the Phoenix Suns 119-84 in Game 1 of their first-round Western Conference playoff series on Sunday.
The top-seeded Thunder established control early and never looked back, leading by as many as 35 points in a commanding victory at home.

The Thunder led 35-20 after the first quarter, 65-44 at halftime, and 97-66 after the third quarter.

Shai Gilgeous-Alexander scored 25 points for the Thunder. He made 5 of 18 field goals but was highly effective at drawing fouls, converting 15 of 17 free throws.
Jalen Williams scored 22 points for the Thunder, while rookie Chet Holmgren added 16 points.
For the Suns, Devin Booker led the way with 23 points. However, his supporting struggled offensively. Dillon Brooks scored 18 points on 6-of-22 shooting, and Jalen Green added 17 points on 6-for-16 shooting.
Series Context
The Thunder are the top seed in the Western Conference. This is the third consecutive season they have held the top seed. In their previous two Game 1s as the top seed, they defeated the New Orleans Pelicans 94-92 two seasons ago and the Memphis Grizzlies 131-80 last season.
