Greg Sharp, a resident of Albany, Western Australia, maintains a private collection of pinball machines. His collection is housed in a dedicated facility in his backyard.
Sharp commenced his collection approximately 25 years ago with a single machine. Currently, his collection comprises 50 pinball titles. His objective is to acquire all 86 machines produced by Bally-Williams between 1986 and 1999.
Acquiring the remaining machines often involves monitoring sales across Australia, as many were originally imported. Purchased machines frequently require restoration work, a process Sharp performs himself. The increasing scarcity of these specific titles presents a challenge for expanding the collection, with some machines not having been listed for sale in over a decade.
Sharp also organizes pinball competitions, observing an increase in the pinball community within Western Australia. Azza Williamson, a fellow pinball enthusiast, visits Sharp's facility. Both individuals have noted the growing interest in pinball among various age groups.
Sharp has indicated a long-term goal of opening his collection to the public as a playable pinball museum.
