Natalie Portman Expecting Third Child
Actor Natalie Portman has announced she is expecting her third child with her partner, French music producer Tanguy Destable. Portman, 44, made the announcement in an interview with Harper's Bazaar.
Announcement and Personal Statements
"We are very excited," Portman stated, adding that she feels "very grateful." She described pregnancy as "such a privilege and a miracle."
In the interview, Portman acknowledged the challenges of pregnancy, noting she grew up hearing about its difficulties and has loved ones who have struggled with fertility. She expressed a desire to be respectful of those experiences while appreciating her own situation.
Regarding her physical condition, Portman reported having "more energy than I thought I might." She said she dedicates time to swimming and Gyrotonics. Portman also noted that in France, full-term pregnancy is considered 41 weeks rather than 40 weeks.
When asked about parenting advice, Portman indicated she is not heavily engaging with social media tips, stating, "I think maybe just having done it twice before... I feel like if you’re just present and loving, that’s the best thing possible."
Family and Personal Background
This will be Portman's first child with Destable, who works under the musical name Tepr. Portman has two children from her previous marriage to choreographer Benjamin Millepied: a 14-year-old son, Aleph, and a 9-year-old daughter, Amalia.
Portman is currently based in Paris. She reported having no unusual pregnancy cravings, only a preference for fruits like pineapple and melon. She credited her father, a fertility doctor, for providing perspective on pregnancy.
