Meghan Trainor Cancels "Get In Girl" Tour
Meghan Trainor has canceled her upcoming "Get In Girl" tour, citing a need to focus on her family and new album. The tour was scheduled to begin on June 12 in Clarkston, Michigan, and conclude on August 15 in Los Angeles.
"After a lot of reflection and some really tough conversations, I've made the difficult decision to cancel The Get In Girl Tour," Trainor stated in a social media announcement.
The Decision and Refunds
The singer explained that balancing her professional commitments with her growing family was the primary reason for the cancellation. She welcomed her third child via surrogate in January and is preparing to release her seventh album, "Toy With Me," on April 24.
"Balancing the release of a new album, preparing for a nationwide tour, and welcoming our new baby girl to our growing family of five has just been more than I can take on right now, and I need to be home and present for each and all of them at this time."
Trainor acknowledged potential fan disappointment but emphasized the choice was necessary. Refunds will be issued to all ticket holders.
Tour Background and Context
The tour was announced in November and included high-profile stops at New York City's Madison Square Garden and San Francisco's Chase Center.
While the official reason given was family commitments, some online observers had previously noted that seating maps for some venues showed a significant number of unsold tickets last month. No connection was officially made between ticket sales and the cancellation.
Trainor concluded her statement by promising a return: "I promise I'll be back soon, and I can't wait for you to hear this new record."
