Electrical Issue Halts Practice for Brad Jones Racing

During a Supercars practice session, a car driven by Cam Hill for Brad Jones Racing stopped on the track, leading to a red flag. The team identified an electrical issue and plans to change the engine loom before qualifying. Separately, two cars from Triple Eight Race Engineering were noted as the last to enter the pit lane during the stoppage.

On-Track Incident

During a Supercars practice session, driver Cam Hill's car stopped on the approach to the final corner. The car was subsequently dragged back to the pit lane. Over team radio, Hill's engineer reported a loss of RPM signal.

Hill responded, stating:

"Yeah mate, she just conked out. Just no fire."

Team Response and Repair Plan

The Brad Jones Racing team has been dealing with an electrical issue. Their plan is to change the engine loom between the practice and qualifying sessions. According to a broadcast report by Molly Taylor, Hill's car remained in the team's garage following the incident.

The report stated the team believes the current issue is related to the planned engine loom change. It was also noted that the car has experienced persistent technical problems throughout the season.

The specific repair plan involves swapping the current engine loom with a previously removed one. Taylor reported that completing the work before the end of the practice session would be challenging, but the team intended to attempt it. She added that the team needs the car running soon due to the day's schedule.

Other Session Event

When the red flag was shown for Hill's stopped car, the two Triple Eight Race Engineering cars, driven by Broc Feeney and Will Brown, were the last to enter the pit lane.

There were suggestions that Feeney and Brown completed an additional lap before pitting. It was reported they may have missed an initial call to enter the pits, as several other cars had already entered the pit lane before Feeney and Brown passed the start-finish line.

The practice session resumed with no time lost from the scheduled session.
