Market Context

According to the report, the smartphone sector is seeing a broader shift where manufacturers are differentiating premium models through AI tools as hardware advances become more incremental.

The Australian market is one where Apple and Samsung dominate premium smartphone sales, and where Chinese brands have often competed on price. Camera software, fraud detection, and assistant features are noted as prominent areas of competition in the premium market segment.

HONOR states the Australian launch is part of its strategy following its return to local retail channels.
