CBS Announces Major Schedule Changes for 2027 Television Season

CBS has announced significant programming changes for its 2027 television season, moving three established series from the fall schedule to a midseason premiere. These shows will be joined by a new drama, creating a substantial midseason lineup.

The network has shifted three series—Ghosts, Matlock, and NCIS: Sydney—to midseason 2027, filling their fall slots with new and returning programming.

New Midseason 2027 Lineup

The following series are now scheduled to premiere in midseason 2027:

  • Ghosts (Season 6)
  • Matlock
  • NCIS: Sydney
  • Einstein (a new drama series)

Fall 2027 Replacement Schedule

To fill the vacated time slots, CBS has scheduled the following programming for fall 2027:

  • Ghosts' former slot: Will be filled by the new series Eternally Yours, a vampire comedy from the creators of Ghosts.
  • Matlock's former Thursday slot: Will be filled by the series Elsbeth. This change makes room for the new series Cupertino at 10/9c on Thursdays.
  • NCIS: Sydney's former Tuesday 10/9c slot: Will be filled by NCIS: Origins. This change makes room for the new series NCIS: New York at 9/8c on Tuesdays.
