Orioles Stage Stunning Comeback to Defeat Diamondbacks

The Baltimore Orioles scored eight unanswered runs after trailing 7-1 in the sixth inning to secure a 9-7 victory over the Arizona Diamondbacks at Camden Yards on April 12, 2026.

The win marks the Orioles' sixth victory in their last seven games, capped by a dramatic late-inning rally.

Game Recap

Early Innings: Diamondbacks Build Lead

Arizona second baseman Ketel Marte hit a home run on the first pitch of the game from Orioles starting pitcher Dean Kremer. Marte would add a second solo home run in the third inning.

The Diamondbacks extended their lead in the fourth. A throwing error by Orioles infielder Gunnar Henderson extended the inning, and Arizona third baseman Nolan Arenado followed with a two-run home run.

In the top of the sixth inning, Arenado struck again, hitting a three-run home run off Orioles reliever Albert Suárez to extend the Diamondbacks' lead to 7-1.

Orioles' Comeback in the Sixth Inning

The Orioles' offense responded immediately in the bottom of the sixth, scoring five runs. First baseman Pete Alonso hit a leadoff double. After Arizona replaced starter Ryne Nelson with reliever Taylor Rashi, outfielders Dylan Beavers and Leody Taveras hit consecutive RBI singles.

Following a walk that loaded the bases, infielder Jeremiah Jackson hit a grand slam—his first career MLB home run—off Rashi to reduce the deficit to 7-6.

Orioles Take and Extend Lead

In the seventh inning, Pete Alonso followed a hit-by-pitch with a two-run home run, giving the Orioles an 8-7 lead.
