Blackmagic Design Unveils URSA Cine 12K LF 100G Camera
The Blackmagic URSA Cine 12K LF 100G is designed to integrate high-resolution cinematic recording with live production workflows through a 100G Ethernet connection.
Blackmagic Design has announced a new model in its URSA Cine family, the Blackmagic URSA Cine 12K LF 100G. This camera is scheduled for release in the third quarter of 2026 with a price of US$8,995, excluding duties.
Core Function & Live Production Focus
The camera is based on the existing URSA Cine 12K LF platform. Its defining feature is a 100G Ethernet port designed for SMPTE-2110 live production output. When configured in SMPTE-2110 Live mode, the camera can output real-time IP video at frame rates up to 440 frames per second (fps) for applications like slow-motion replay, supporting resolutions up to 2160p60.
Technical Specifications
- Sensor: A large format RGBW 36x24mm sensor, carried over from the URSA Cine 12K LF.
- Dynamic Range: 16 stops of dynamic range.
- Color Science: Incorporates Blackmagic Generation 6 Color Science with a redesigned processing pipeline that supports 3D Look-Up Tables (LUTs). The system includes two internal 3D LUT processors, with an additional third LUT dedicated to the SMPTE-2110 output.
- Recording: Records Blackmagic RAW internally at maximum frame rates of:
- 80 fps in 12K resolution
- 144 fps in 8K resolution

Enhanced Connectivity & Control
A built-in color corrector, based on the primary color corrector in DaVinci Resolve software, allows for live color grading. The camera also includes high-speed Wi-Fi and mobile data connectivity options, built-in support for RTMP and SRT live streaming protocols, and is compatible with the ATEM Camera Control Panel and DaVinci Resolve control panels.
Optional Accessories for Broadcast
Several optional accessories are designed to adapt the camera for broadcast and studio environments:
- Lens Mounts: Options include PL, locking EF, LPL, and a B4 broadcast lens mount. The B4 mount allows the use of broadcast lenses and includes a center-crop mode for Ultra HD recording at high frame rates.
- Studio Viewfinder: An optional Blackmagic URSA Cine Studio Viewfinder features a 7-inch touchscreen display.
- Media Dock: The camera is compatible with the Blackmagic Media Dock and higher-performance Media Dock Ultra, which offer high-speed media access and additional 100G Ethernet ports.
Software, Design & Availability
The camera purchase includes a license for DaVinci Resolve Studio post-production software. The camera body is described as lightweight and robust, featuring industry-standard connections and built-in ND filters.
- Release: Scheduled for Q3 2026.
- Price: US$8,995 (excluding duties).
- Demonstration: The camera will be publicly demonstrated at the Blackmagic Design booth (#N2502) during the NAB Show 2026.
"Our goal was to bring cinematic image quality to live production," said Grant Petty, CEO of Blackmagic Design. He highlighted the camera's 100G Ethernet for high-frame-rate SMPTE-2110 video and noted that optional accessories are designed to transform the URSA Cine into a broadcast camera.
