Polestar 2 Lineup Updated for 2026 in Australia
Polestar Australia has announced updates to its Polestar 2 electric vehicle lineup for the 2026 model year. The changes involve discontinuing an entry-level variant and adding standard equipment to a flagship model without increasing its price. The updated vehicles are now available to order.
Key Changes to the Model Range
The primary change is the discontinuation of the entry-level Standard Range Single Motor variant. The updated range, sometimes referred to as the 'MY27' update, now consists of three core variants.
2026 Pricing & Specifications
Manufacturer's list pricing for the 2026 Polestar 2 in Australia, excluding on-road costs, is as follows:
- Long Range Single Motor: $66,400
- Long Range Dual Motor: $71,400
- Long Range Dual Motor with Performance Pack: $85,080
The Long Range Dual Motor variant with the Performance Pack has received additional equipment included as standard.
According to Polestar Australia, this new standard equipment—comprising Pixel LED headlights and an upgraded sound system—has an estimated value of $5,100. Crucially, the vehicle's price point remains unchanged from its previous configuration.
Future Product Context
These adjustments come as the current-generation Polestar 2 is expected to be replaced by an all-new model in approximately 12 months.
Industry reports indicate the next-generation vehicle is anticipated to shift from its current sedan design to a lower-profile vehicle. It is expected to be built on the Sustainable Experience Architecture (SEA) platform, which is also used for the Polestar 4 crossover.
