House Fire in Remote Bundaberg Area Leaves Two Unaccounted For

A house fire in a remote rural area near Bundaberg has left two residents unaccounted for. The fire, which destroyed a single-storey property on Booyal Crossing Road in the Good Night area, was reported on Saturday night. Emergency services remain on scene as police investigate the cause.

Incident Details and Emergency Response

The fire was reported to emergency services at approximately 9:15 PM on Saturday, February 17.

Police arriving at the scene found the house fully engulfed in flames. Nine Queensland Fire and Emergency Services crews responded to the incident after being alerted by multiple Triple Zero (000) calls.

The fire was extinguished by 11:30 PM. The roof of the property collapsed and the building was destroyed.

Status of Occupants and Investigation

Two people who lived at the property, described as being in their 70s, are unaccounted for. Police are conducting a search for the pair.

A crime scene was declared at the property on Sunday, February 18, after fire crews returned to the location. Emergency services personnel remained at the scene through Sunday morning and into Monday morning.

The cause of the fire is under investigation by police.

Police have appealed to the public for assistance. They are asking anyone with information, or any images or footage that may be relevant to the investigation, to come forward.
