Two separate, fatal crashes shake Perth suburbs days apart.

A 24-year-old man has been charged following a crash in Viveash that resulted in the deaths of two young girls nine days after the incident. In a separate, unrelated incident, three adults died after their vehicle struck a tree in Stoneville.

Crash 1: Viveash

Date: April 17 | Location: Muriel Street, Viveash

The Incident
On April 17 at approximately 2:25 PM, a silver Ford Territory was traveling on Muriel Street in Viveash, a suburb in Perth's north-eastern metropolitan area. The vehicle was occupied by a male driver, a female passenger, and two girls aged three and four. The vehicle left the road and collided with a tree.

Casualties
The two girls sustained life-threatening injuries and were taken to Perth Children's Hospital. They died nine days later, on April 26. The 24-year-old male driver and a 24-year-old female passenger were taken to Royal Perth Hospital with serious injuries.

Charged: The driver now faces two counts of dangerous driving causing death.

Investigation and Charges
Major Crash investigators appealed for witnesses. The 24-year-old driver, from Caversham, has been charged with two counts of dangerous driving causing death and one count of dangerous driving occasioning grievous bodily harm. He is scheduled to appear in Midland Magistrates Court.

Crash 2: Stoneville

The Incident
On a Saturday morning at approximately 8:50 AM, a single vehicle crashed on Stoneville Road, near the intersections with Timpertop Way and La Grange Road, in Stoneville, a suburb in the Perth Hills. The vehicle left the roadway and struck a tree.

Casualties
All three adult occupants of the vehicle sustained fatal injuries and were pronounced deceased at the scene.

Witness account: "The driver over corrected... the vehicle ended up sideways pinned between two trees."

Witness Account
One witness reported observing the vehicle pass her and move into her lane. The witness stated they believed the driver "over corrected" and the vehicle ended up "sideways pinned between two trees."

Investigation
The section of Stoneville Road where the crash occurred has a posted speed limit of 80 kilometers per hour. Officers from the Major Crash unit are investigating the incident.
