Man Fatally Shot in Targeted Box Hill Apartment Attack

A man was fatally shot in a targeted attack within a suburban apartment complex in Box Hill, Melbourne's east. The incident occurred in the early hours of Thursday morning and is currently under investigation by homicide squad detectives.

Residents inside the Whitehorse Road building reported hearing a loud bang just before 2 AM. Around the same time, a fire alarm activated, prompting the evacuation of numerous residents from the building.

Police stated that a fight is believed to have occurred inside an apartment located on level 11. The man died at the scene.

Victoria Police confirmed the incident is being treated as a targeted attack.
