Norqain Unveils Its Lightest Watch Ever: The Wild One Skeleton X-Lite

Weighing just 45 grams, the new limited-edition timepiece is lighter than a golf ball and marks a significant milestone for the independent brand.

Norqain has introduced a groundbreaking new concept watch, the Wild One Skeleton X-Lite Limited Edition. At a mere 45 grams, it is now the lightest watch the brand has ever produced. This achievement stands in stark contrast to its previous models; the earlier lightest, the Skeleton 39mm, weighed 64 grams, while 42mm models ranged from 78 to 84 grams.

Key Features

Weight & Material
The watch's featherlight 45-gram build is comparable to a standard golf ball or nine U.S. nickels. This was achieved through the use of a new proprietary carbon fibre composite called "X-Lite," which is combined with NORTEQ®, titanium, and aluminum.

Case & Design
The case features a complex architecture built from over 30 individual components. A central shock-absorbing X-Lite composite casing ring is integrated into the design. Both the case and bezel are scalloped, a technique that reduces material use without sacrificing strength.

  • Dimensions: 41mm diameter, 11.95mm thickness, 48.7mm lug-to-lug.
  • Water Resistance: 100 meters (reduced from the 200 meters found on other Wild One models).
  • Shock Resistance: Maintains a high level of durability with 5,000Gs shock resistance.

Movement
Powering the watch is Norqain's new 4K manufacture calibre, developed in partnership with AMT. This automatic movement is chronometer-certified and offers a 65-hour power reserve. Its openworked architecture is designed to reflect a mountainous landscape.

Straps and Availability

The limited edition is offered with two strap choices:

  • A case-matching black and yellow rubber strap with a perforated upper layer.
  • A new hybrid rubber strap featuring a perforated top layer over an ultra-light, interchangeable stretch-band.

The Norqain Wild One Skeleton X-Lite Limited Edition is restricted to 200 pieces. The version with the black and yellow rubber strap is priced at US$13,900.
