Michigan Men's Basketball Monitors Transfer Portal Following National Championship Win

"Following a national championship victory, the University of Michigan men's basketball program is operating within the 15-day NCAA transfer portal window, which opened April 7 and closes April 21."

Head coach Dusty May and his staff are currently assessing the roster and targeting potential additions from the transfer portal to construct the 2025-26 team.

Current Roster Status

Returning Players

Guards Trey McKenney and Elliot Cadeau have confirmed their return for the next season. Other players expected to return include Oscar Goodman, Malick Kordel, and Winters Grady. Grady, a perimeter shooter, was injured for much of the previous season and his return timeline is uncertain.

Departures

Players who have exhausted their college eligibility include Will Tschetter, Nimari Burnett, Roddy Gayle Jr., and Yaxel Lendeborg. L.J. Cason is projected to miss the next season due to a torn ACL.

NBA Draft Decisions

Aday Mara and Morez Johnson Jr., both projected as first-round picks, are considering entering the NBA draft but retain college eligibility.
