Picsart Unveils New Creator Monetization Program

Picsart, an AI-powered design platform, has announced the launch of a new creator monetization program. This initiative, communicated to TechCrunch, marks a significant step for the company.

The program is open to all creators regardless of an invitation status or minimum audience size.

How the Program Works

The monetization program empowers creators to produce original content using Picsart's suite of tools for specific campaigns. This content is then disseminated across the creators' personal social media channels.

Revenue generation is tied directly to audience engagement with the shared material. Picsart emphasizes that its goal is to reward creative output and performance.

Picsart states that the program aims to compensate creative output and performance rather than focusing on scale or follower count.

This strategic move positions Picsart as more than just a creative tool, evolving into a platform where creators can actively earn revenue. The company anticipates this transition will be instrumental in both attracting and retaining its creator base.

Participation and Content Submission

Upon successful enrollment, creators gain access to a dedicated dashboard. This hub provides a clear overview of current prompts and creative challenges. For instance, a recent campaign encouraged creators to design 'cute fluffy creatures' using Picsart Aura – the platform's AI conversational assistant capable of generating and animating images and videos from text or voice prompts.

It's important to note that Picsart advises against simply generating and posting AI images without additional creative effort, as this may not lead to significant engagement or earnings.

Once content is finalized, creators submit a brief form. This includes the URL of the social media post, campaign-specific tags, and a short description detailing the content's creation process within Picsart. Content is directly shared by creators to their own accounts on major platforms like Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, and X.

Earnings and Withdrawal Process

Earnings are meticulously calculated based on a variety of engagement metrics, including views, comments, shares, and overall reach. Creators can conveniently monitor their accumulating earnings directly through their personalized dashboard. For withdrawals, funds can be securely processed via Stripe.

Company Vision and Context

Hovhannes Avoyan, founder and CEO of Picsart, issued a statement underscoring the program's core objective: to tackle a perceived structural flaw in the creator economy concerning compensation for everyday creators.

Avoyan described 'Earn with Picsart' as a straightforward and open commitment to its creative community.

Founded in 2011, Picsart has grown to serve over 130 million users globally and achieved unicorn status in 2021. The introduction of this new monetization program follows closely on the heels of Picsart's recent launch of an AI agent marketplace, which allows creators to leverage AI assistants for diverse tasks such as resizing social content or enhancing product photos.
