Kitten Rescued, One Missing After Being Thrown from Moving Vehicle in Melbourne
Two six-week-old kittens were reportedly thrown from a moving vehicle in Melbourne's west. One of the kittens remains missing, while the other, named Dorothy, was rescued by a passerby.

Following her rescue, Dorothy was immediately taken to Lort Smith Animal Hospital's emergency department.
She is currently undergoing treatment for a suspected fractured pelvis and is in foster care between hospital visits.

Dr. Jessica Wilde, Lort Smith chief veterinarian, expressed strong condemnation of the incident. She stated that such actions towards animals are unacceptable and highlighted the availability of numerous veterinary services and shelters for animals requiring care.
Lort Smith nurse Jordan, who is currently providing foster care for Dorothy, reported positive progress. The kitten is getting stronger daily as she continues her recovery.
