Approximately 50 people from a residential facility for new mothers, pregnant women, and children were attending an Easter egg hunt when a 30-meter (100-foot) tree collapsed. High winds were identified as the cause of the tree fall.
Casualties and Injuries
Four individuals were pinned under the fallen tree. A 21-year-old woman and a 16-year-old girl died at the scene. The 10-month-old daughter of the 21-year-old woman later died in the hospital. An 18-year-old woman sustained serious injuries and was transported to the hospital by helicopter.

The residential facility involved is part of the state-funded child welfare system, which provides support to pregnant women and new mothers requiring assistance. Grief counselors were dispatched to the location following the incident.
