Samsung TVs Embrace Google Cast and Google Photos Functionality
Samsung televisions are integrating Google Cast functionality, a feature previously unavailable natively on the brand's devices. This integration will be included in upcoming 2026 Samsung TV models and is also being rolled out to certain existing older models.
Google Cast Integration
Google Cast support will be available out-of-the-box with Samsung's 2026 TV models.
This inclusion was observed in product listings for these upcoming devices. This development is consistent with Google's ongoing efforts to expand Cast functionality across various platforms, following a similar integration by LG TVs, which have adopted Cast as a standard feature.
For existing Samsung TV models, Google Cast functionality is being added via recent One UI updates on Tizen OS. Owners of specific older models, such as the Samsung S90D OLED TV, have reported receiving this feature, noting its inclusion in the startup changelog accompanying these updates. While some users have indicated that this support has been available on their devices for several months, the precise timeline for a broader rollout to all compatible older models has not been fully specified.
Google Photos Integration
In a separate development, Samsung's latest TV releases are also incorporating Google Photos integration. It is currently unconfirmed whether this specific Google Photos functionality will be extended to older Samsung TV models.
