Federal Prosecutors Charge Rapper Pooh Shiesty and Eight Others in Alleged Kidnapping and Robbery Plot

Federal prosecutors in Dallas have charged rapper Lontrell Williams Jr., known as Pooh Shiesty, and eight other individuals with conspiracy to commit kidnapping and robbery. The charges stem from an alleged incident on January 10, 2026, at a Dallas music studio, where fellow rapper Radric Davis, known as Gucci Mane, was reportedly targeted.

Incident Details

Prosecutors allege that Williams Jr. was dissatisfied with his recording contract terms with Davis's 1017 Records. A meeting was reportedly arranged to discuss the contract. During this meeting, Williams Jr. and eight men who allegedly traveled with him from Memphis reportedly brandished firearms. Victims were then allegedly robbed of various items, including Rolex watches, jewelry, cash, a Louis Vuitton bag, and a wallet containing an Apple AirTag.

The criminal complaint states that co-defendant Rodney Lamont Wright Jr., known as Big30, allegedly provided Williams Jr. with an AK-style pistol. Williams Jr. then reportedly used the weapon to compel Davis to sign documents terminating his contract and to verbally state that he "released" Williams Jr. from their agreement. Following this, Williams Jr. allegedly took Davis's wedding ring, watch, earrings, and cash.

Wright Jr. is accused of blocking an exit, reportedly preventing multiple victims from leaving the studio. The complaint details that one victim was choked to the point of nearly losing consciousness, with photos reportedly showing injuries to the man's neck and wrist.

Evidence Cited by Prosecutors

Prosecutors assert they possess substantial evidence supporting the charges, which includes:

  • Electronic Monitoring Data: Data from Williams Jr.'s ankle monitor reportedly placed him at the studio, indicating a violation of his home detention conditions. Williams Jr. had been released early from prison in October after serving part of a five-year sentence for a gun charge and was prohibited from possessing a firearm.
  • Social Media Posts: Co-defendant Terrance Rodgers allegedly posted a video wearing a Rolex that prosecutors identify as stolen. Co-defendant Demarcus Glover reportedly shared images wearing jewelry purportedly taken from a victim.
  • Travel Records: License plate reader data reportedly shows multiple defendants traveling from Memphis to Dallas.
  • Rental Car Information: Rental car records indicate Williams Jr.'s father, Lontrell Williams Sr., rented a vehicle reportedly used by the group. Williams Sr. was also charged and was allegedly present at the studio.
  • Surveillance Footage: Footage from the crime scene, a nearby office supply store, and a hotel reportedly contributed to the charges.
  • Forensic Evidence: Latent fingerprints recovered from the scene reportedly matched two defendants.
  • GPS Tracking: The last known location of the stolen wallet's AirTag was reportedly near an apartment leased by Williams Sr.

Charges and Official Statements

Williams Jr. was arrested on Wednesday. All nine defendants face charges of conspiracy to commit kidnapping, which carries a maximum sentence of life in prison.

Ryan Raybould, U.S. Attorney for the Northern District of Texas, stated that the defendants traveled to Dallas "to kidnap and rob victims who thought they were coming into town for a business meeting." Raybould added that such actions would be "vigorously investigated and prosecuted."
