On Tuesday, just before noon, a single-vehicle accident occurred at the Bedford toll plaza in New Hampshire. Yevgeny "Eugene" Mirman, 51, of Massachusetts, was driving a northbound 2026 Lucid Gravity electric vehicle when it struck the toll plaza. The vehicle subsequently caught fire, and Mirman sustained serious injuries in the crash.
Rescue Operation
New Hampshire State Police reported that Governor Kelly Ayotte and her security detail arrived at the scene shortly after the crash. A state trooper, assigned to Governor Ayotte's security detail, along with other bystanders, including Governor Ayotte, successfully extracted Mirman from the burning vehicle through a window.
Colonel Mark Hall of the New Hampshire State Police commended the rescuers, stating they "put themselves in danger to render aid to someone who was in need of it." Some reports characterized these actions as "heroic."
Condition and Statements
Mirman was transported to a local hospital for treatment of his serious injuries.
His agent, Jay Glassner, confirmed the accident, stating that Mirman is "on the mend." Glassner conveyed Mirman's gratitude to the bystanders, state police, first responders, and hospital staff involved in his rescue and care, also requesting privacy for Mirman and his family during his recovery.
Governor Ayotte publicly thanked the trooper and bystanders for their "brave lifesaving efforts" and stated she and her husband were praying for Mirman's full recovery.
