Zach Cregger and Zach Shields have been assigned to write the screenplay for "Gladys," an upcoming prequel to the horror film "Weapons." This project represents a collaborative effort between New Line and Warner Bros.
In addition to his writing duties, Cregger will also take on a producing role for "Gladys." He joins Roy Lee and Miri Yoon of Vertigo Entertainment, both of whom previously served as producers on the original "Weapons" film.

The original film, "Weapons," generated a worldwide gross exceeding $270 million, marking it as a significant commercial success.
Actress Amy Madigan received an Academy Award for Best Actress in a Supporting Role and a SAG Actor Award for her portrayal of the character Aunt Gladys.
Madigan had previously described her character as a woman who acts decisively to achieve her objectives, a portrayal that garnered critical acclaim.
