Infrastructure at the Baltic Sea port of Ust-Luga in northwestern Russia was damaged following a Ukrainian drone attack on Tuesday morning. Leningrad region Governor Alexander Drozdenko confirmed the damage via a Telegram post. Specific details regarding the extent of the damage were not provided.
This event represents at least the fourth reported attack on the Ust-Luga port within a week. Governor Drozdenko also reported that numerous Ukrainian drones were intercepted over the Leningrad region during the night.
Impact in Molodtsovo
In a separate incident, three individuals, including two children, sustained minor injuries in the village of Molodtsovo, located east of St. Petersburg. Additionally, several buildings in Molodtsovo were reported to have incurred damage.
Context of Recent Attacks
Ukrainian forces have increased their targeting of Russian energy infrastructure in recent weeks. Since late March, locations such as Ust-Luga and the nearby port of Primorsk have been targeted multiple times.
These actions are reportedly aimed at impacting Russia's revenue from oil exports.
