UEFA to Maintain Euro 2028 Ticket Prices, Prioritising Affordability

UEFA plans to largely maintain current ticket price levels for the Euro 2028 tournament, which will be held across England, Scotland, Wales, and the Republic of Ireland. This strategy aims to make the event accessible for fans.

UEFA aims to keep the equivalent prices for Euro 2028 below £30 and £60, respectively, for its most affordable categories.

Ticket Allocation and Pricing Strategy

The tournament will see a significant portion of tickets designated for budget-conscious fans. Approximately 40% of tickets for Euro 2028 will be designated for the two most affordable "Fans First" categories.

For Euro 2024 in Germany, the cheapest group stage tickets were priced at 30 euros (£26) and 60 euros (£52). UEFA is committed to ensuring Euro 2028's equivalent "Fans First" tickets remain below these thresholds.

Four general ticket categories will be made available to the public. To support the price freeze for these general admission tickets, a limited number of premium VIP+ tickets will be offered, with revenue from their sales contributing to this initiative.

Specific pricing details for higher-priced categories in Euro 2028 have not yet been released. For comparison, group stage tickets in these categories for Euro 2024 were 150 euros (£130) and 200 euros (£174).

Comparison with FIFA World Cup Pricing

This approach contrasts with FIFA's ticket pricing for the upcoming World Cup in the United States, Mexico, and Canada.

Initially, the cheapest group-stage tickets for certain World Cup matches were set at $220 (£167), with the most expensive options reaching up to $700 (£523).

Following initial announcements, FIFA later introduced a restricted number of $60 (£45) tickets for all 104 matches of the World Cup, adjusting its strategy to include more affordable options.
