Celine Dion Announces Paris Concert Series for 2026
Celine Dion has announced a five-week concert series comprising 10 performances at the 40,000-capacity Paris La Défense Arena, scheduled from September 12 to October 14, 2026. This marks her first major concert program since 2020, following a hiatus due to a rare neurological condition. The announcement was made via a video message broadcast at the Eiffel Tower, coinciding with her 58th birthday.
The highly anticipated return to the stage follows a period of significant health challenges for the global superstar.
Concert Announcement
Dion's message, broadcast on a screen at the Eiffel Tower, conveyed her gratitude for support during her health challenges. She stated her anticipation to perform again in Paris, beginning in September 2026. The announcement followed a period of public speculation, fueled by posters featuring Dion's song titles across Paris and social media activity, building excitement for her return.
Health Background and Return to Performing
The upcoming series represents Dion's return to major live performances since her Courage World Tour was halted in 2020, initially due to the COVID-19 pandemic and subsequently due to her health.
In December 2022, Dion publicly disclosed her diagnosis with Stiff Person Syndrome (SPS), a rare neurological disorder affecting approximately one in a million people. The condition is characterized by symptoms such as muscle spasms, rigidity, chronic pain, and can impact mobility and vocal ability. While there is no cure for SPS, treatments are available to manage its symptoms.
Dion's health journey and efforts to manage SPS were documented in the 2024 film "I Am: Celine Dion." Despite her diagnosis, she has made recent public appearances, including a performance atop the Eiffel Tower for the Paris 2024 Olympic Games opening ceremony in July 2024 and an appearance at an Elie Saab fashion show in Riyadh in November 2024.
She has indicated that her health has improved, stating she is "managing my health, feeling good" and is "singing again, even doing a little bit of dancing."
