Joseph Baena Prepares for Debut Bodybuilding Competition
Joseph Baena, son of legendary bodybuilder Arnold Schwarzenegger, is set to compete in his first bodybuilding competition. The 28-year-old will participate in the NPC Natural Colorado State championships this Saturday, April 5.
Training with His Father, Arnold Schwarzenegger
Baena has been diligently training alongside his father, Arnold Schwarzenegger, and has offered glimpses into their shared sessions.
"You have to shock the muscles," Baena shared as one of the key pieces of advice he received.
Baena's bodybuilding journey began in his teenage years when Schwarzenegger gifted him a copy of The Encyclopedia of Modern Bodybuilding, laying the foundation for his future endeavors.
A Natural and Intense Training Philosophy
Baena maintains a natural approach to muscle building. He focuses on intense effort through isolation exercises, dedicating approximately two hours a day, six days a week, to his regimen.
Learning from his father, Baena highlights the significance of extending effort beyond typical boundaries.
Baena emphasized learning from his father the importance of pushing beyond a "ten-rep mentality," advocating for extending efforts to the limits, including extra and half-reps.
