On Thursday morning, a fire occurred at the historic Vondelkerk church in Amsterdam, leading to the evacuation of residents from adjacent homes.

Local media has reported that the structure, constructed in 1880, is suspected to have been hit by fireworks. Footage from the scene depicted flames spreading within the building. Firefighting personnel were engaged in efforts to extinguish the blaze.

The Vondelkerk church was designed by architect Pierre Cuypers, recognized for his contributions to the Rijksmuseum and Central Station in Amsterdam. The church had recently functioned as a venue for concerts and various other events.
