Damar Hamlin Re-Signs with Buffalo Bills
Damar Hamlin has re-signed with the Buffalo Bills on a one-year deal, marking his second consecutive one-year agreement with the team that drafted him in 2021.
Recent Season and Injury
Hamlin's 2025 season was shortened by a pectoral injury, leading to him being placed on injured reserve after five games. During those appearances, he served as a reserve, a change from his starting role in the secondary during the 2024 season.
Journey Back from Cardiac Arrest
In December 2022, Hamlin experienced cardiac arrest during a game. Medical personnel on the field restored his heartbeat, and he was later diagnosed with commotio cordis, a condition where a severe blow to the chest interrupts the heart's rhythm.
After his recovery, Hamlin played five games in the 2023 season. He will now prepare for his sixth season as part of the Buffalo defense.
