Xbox Gaming Copilot Console Launch
Xbox has announced plans to launch its Gaming Copilot AI assistant on "current-generation consoles" this year. This significant update was shared by Sonali Yadav, Xbox’s product manager for gaming AI, during a panel at the Game Developers Conference (GDC), as reported by GamesRadar.
Yadav further stated that Xbox intends to integrate the assistant into "more services that players are playing," expanding its reach beyond the console.
Assistant Capabilities and Availability
Microsoft has been actively developing its gaming-focused Copilot assistant over several months. Prior to its console debut, it has been available in beta on the Xbox mobile app, Windows 11, and Xbox Ally handhelds.
The Gaming Copilot is designed to offer a range of helpful features:
- Respond to voice commands from players seeking in-game assistance.
- Provide suggestions for progression when players encounter difficulties.
- Answer questions about a player’s gaming history.
- Offer tips or strategies.
- Generate game recommendations.
Examples shared by Xbox highlight its practicality, such as asking the assistant how to defeat a specific boss or which materials are required to craft a sword in Minecraft.
