Melissa Mae Carlton and her family announced the death of their daughter, Molly, on Christmas Day. This occurred less than two years after the passing of their daughter, Abigail.
Carlton disclosed the information via an Instagram post on Friday, stating the family was in shock following Molly's sudden death. She noted Molly had previously expressed a desire to be reunited with her older sister.
In a subsequent post, Carlton provided additional information regarding the cause of death. Physicians suspect Molly may have experienced a genetic heart condition. This condition is also believed to have potentially affected Abigail, who died from sepsis.
Carlton explained that information regarding Abigail's condition was not available at the time of her death due to the sudden nature of her passing, which precluded hospital evaluation. Molly, however, underwent hospital analysis.
Abigail was nine years old when she died. Molly's age has not been publicly disclosed.
