Google Releases Pixel 10a Factory Images: Codenamed 'Stallion'

Google has officially released factory images for its upcoming Pixel 10a, which bears the codename "stallion". These releases provide crucial tools for developers and users needing to restore their devices.

Available Builds and Day One Update

Two distinct builds are currently available for the Pixel 10a:

  • 16.0.0 (BD6A.251031.001.A4, Mar 2026)
  • 16.0.0 (CP1A.260305.018, Mar 2026)

The first build listed, BD6A.251031.001.A4, represents the out-of-the-box software that the device will ship with. The second build, CP1A.260305.018, is notable as the day one Android 16 QPR3 update, which also incorporates the March 2026 security patch.

Purpose of Factory Images

These factory images are essential for restoring software-damaged phones to their original factory firmware. They serve as a vital resource for troubleshooting and repair.

In addition to the factory images, full OTA (Over-The-Air) images are also available, providing an alternative method for updating or restoring devices.

Continuing the Racehorse Theme: Pixel 10 Series Codenames

The Pixel 10a's codename, "stallion," reinforces the ongoing racehorse naming theme for the entire Pixel 10 series. This trend provides a consistent and recognizable branding element across the lineup.

Other confirmed codenames within the Pixel 10 series include:

  • "frankel" for Pixel 10
  • "blazer" for Pixel 10 Pro
  • "mustang" for Pixel 10 Pro XL
  • "rango" for Pixel 10 Pro Fold

Android Beta Program Eligibility

It's important to note that the Pixel 10a is not yet eligible for the Android Beta Program. Support for beta releases is anticipated to commence with Android 17 Beta 3.
