Trump Unconcerned by Rising Gas Prices Amid Iran Conflict
Donald Trump stated that he was not concerned about rising US gas prices, attributing them to the widening Iran conflict. He informed Reuters that the US military operation remained his primary focus.
When questioned about the increased prices at the pump, Trump responded:
“I don’t have any concern about it.”
He further commented, “They’ll drop very rapidly when this is over, and if they rise, they rise, but this is far more important than having gasoline price go up a little bit.”
Global Oil Market ImpactGlobal oil prices have increased by 16 percent since the onset of the conflict, which has affected Middle East supplies. The closure of the Strait of Hormuz, a critical passageway for one-fifth of global oil supplies, has also influenced the international oil market.
International Ripple EffectConsumers in Australia are also anticipating the impact of global oil price fluctuations at petrol stations, as local prices have already shown an increase due to the ongoing conflict.
