Three Upcoming Smartphones: A Detailed Preview
A new generation of smartphones is on the horizon. Here's what we know about the Nothing Phone (4a) Pro, Motorola Moto G Stylus (2026), and Google Pixel 11.
Nothing Phone (4a) Pro: Features and Specifications
The Nothing Phone (4a) Pro includes a Glyph Matrix interface on the rear of the device. According to the manufacturer, this interface can display information such as the time when the phone is face down, a countdown timer, and battery status. It can also function as a pixelated mirror for rear camera selfies, showing an outline of the user’s face. Users can configure custom icons for specific messages.
Build and Durability
The device features a metal construction and carries an IP65 rating for water resistance. The manufacturer states it can withstand submersion in approximately 10 inches of water for up to 20 minutes.
Performance
The phone is equipped with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 processor. Available configurations include 12 GB RAM with 256 GB storage, and a base model with 8 GB RAM and 128 GB storage. Benchmark scores place the device below the Google Pixel 10a. Reports indicate the device handles most applications and games adequately, though some demanding titles may require graphics setting adjustments. Some users have reported choppy scrolling in specific applications.
Display
The screen supports a refresh rate of up to 144 Hz. Screen brightness has been improved compared to previous models. The device includes auto-brightness, which adjusts screen brightness automatically.
Motorola Moto G Stylus (2026): Stylus, Price, and Features
The Motorola Moto G Stylus (2026) includes an active, pressure-sensitive stylus with handwriting recognition and text magnification. The price has been set at $499, a $100 increase from the previous model.
Key Features
- Camera: A 50MP main camera with optical image stabilization (OIS). The ultrawide camera also functions as a macro lens. The phone has four rear lens-like elements, one of which is a 3-in-1 light sensor for auto white balance, exposure, and anti-flicker.
- Performance: Powered by a Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 chipset with 8GB RAM. Some minor hesitations have been observed when waking the device and opening applications.
- Software: Motorola has promised two major OS upgrades and three years of security updates. Motorola's delivery of these updates has been described as slow.
- Build: Available in a Lilac color with a textured back panel. The device offers IP68 and IP69 water and dust resistance, a MicroSD slot, and a headphone jack.
- Bloatware: The device includes a reduced amount of pre-installed applications compared to previous models.
Motorola spokesperson Brendan Hall stated that the 3-in-1 light sensor assists with Auto White Balance, Exposure, and Anti-Flicker.
Google Pixel 11: Leaked Design and Specifications
Early leaks from OnLeaks and Android Headlines have provided a first look at the Google Pixel 11, indicating a design largely consistent with previous generations.
Design Details
CAD renders suggest dimensions of 152.8 x 72 x 8.5mm, nearly identical to the Pixel 10, with a slight 0.1mm thickness adjustment. The Pixel 11 is also reported to feature slimmer bezels around its 6.3-inch display. A notable change is the apparent absence of a camera bar cover, a component previously introduced to address lens flare issues in the Pixel 6. The design aligns with a statement from Google Chief Design Officer Ivy Ross, who indicated the company’s intent to refresh its design language every two to three years.
Hardware Specifications
The Pixel 11 is expected to utilize Google's Tensor G6 processor, which is rumored to incorporate TSMC’s 2nm process and a new Titan M3 security coprocessor. Reports suggest a potential shift from Samsung modems to MediaTek’s M9. The device is expected to retain 12GB of RAM and a starting storage configuration of 128GB.
Pricing and Availability
Pricing and availability details remain unconfirmed. An August launch is considered possible, coinciding with the anticipated earlier summer release of Android 17. The potential target price is estimated at $800.
