Blood Moon Dazzles Australia: A Celestial Spectacle from Coast to Coast
The total lunar eclipse, commonly referred to as a blood moon, was observed and photographed by individuals across various regions of Australia. Many shared their captures of the celestial event.
Queensland

Linda's 97-year-old mother witnessed the eclipse from her bedroom window in Strathpine, Queensland, expressing excitement at seeing it clearly.
Pat Govender captured a shot just before cloud cover. Separately, a plane was photographed passing in front of the blood moon in Woolloongabba.
New South Wales

Fifteen-year-old high school student Elise photographed the moon from her backyard in Kempsey using a Seestar telescope.
Western Australia
The blood moon was captured against backdrops of stars and high-rise buildings in Perth. Observations included the eclipse over Cockburn Cement in Success, WA, and from Roe Gardens in Perth King's Park, where a drone was also visible. Raphael Woon was noted taking photos in Perth.
South Australia
Residents in South Australia photographed the eclipse from their backyards. Captures included images from Sturt, Adelaide, and Port Lincoln. Andrew Burston created a stacked image from his driveway in Mount Gambier.
Victoria and Tasmania
The lunar eclipse was observed in national parks and during events in Victoria and Tasmania. Glimpses were caught between clouds in Hobart and just before full cloud cover in Mount Duneed.
Shelly Damen observed the eclipse during a Pulp concert at Sidney Myer Music Bowl.
Photos were taken from Lindisfarne, Tasmania, and Richmond, showing a reddish glow. Cassandra Brennan managed to capture images despite heavy cloud cover. Adrienne marked her birthday on March 3rd while observing the moon, reflecting on the experience.
