Ike Barinholtz to Launch Comedy-Trivia Podcast 'Funny You Ask'

Ike Barinholtz is set to launch a new weekly comedy-trivia podcast titled "Funny You Ask," which will be available on all major podcast platforms starting March 25. Barinholtz, known for his extensive trivia knowledge, including victories on both celebrity and non-celebrity versions of Jeopardy!, will host the show.

Barinholtz stated his motivation for the podcast was to have "funny conversations centered around knowledge and facts" in a time when "people question facts and have alternate versions of what is true."

Podcast Format and Guests

The podcast's premise involves Barinholtz inviting comedic friends to participate in customized trivia battles. Guests such as Jimmy Kimmel, Mindy Kaling, and Kate Hudson are slated to appear. Questions for guests are tailored to their specific interests, with Barinholtz crafting many of the questions himself.

Production Details

The podcast will offer both audio and visual content. Full audio episodes will be available for streaming, while full episodes will also be accessible on YouTube. Additionally, short, digestible clips from the conversations are planned for social media platforms like Reels.

Other Projects and Beyond

Barinholtz discussed his ongoing roles in the Emmy-winning comedy "The Studio" and the Netflix comedy "Running Point." He also mentioned his involvement in Luca Guadagnino’s upcoming AI movie, "Artificial," noting that his role in "The Studio" likely contributed to securing the part.

He reflected on the recent death of his "The Studio" co-star Catherine O’Hara, acknowledging her contributions to script development and the impact of her loss on the cast.

Barinholtz confirmed that a family edition of "Funny You Ask" is planned, featuring his mother, father, and brother.
