"Life Is Strange" Series Adaptation Casts Lead Roles for Amazon Prime Video

Maisy Stella and Tatum Grace Hopkins have been cast as the two lead roles, Chloe and Max, in the "Life Is Strange" series adaptation for Amazon Prime Video. The series was initially reported to be in development at Prime Video in September 2025.

Series Overview: A Rewind Through Time

The official logline states that the show follows Max (Hopkins), a photography student who discovers she can rewind time. She uses this ability to save her childhood best friend, Chloe (Stella). As Max attempts to understand her new skill, the two investigate the disappearance of a fellow student. This uncovers a dark side to their town, leading them to a difficult life-or-death decision.

Creative Team and Production

Charlie Covell will write, serve as executive producer, and showrunner for the series. Dmitri M. Johnson, Michael Lawrence Goldberg, and Timothy I. Stevenson will executive produce under Story Kitchen.

The series is produced by Square Enix, Story Kitchen, LuckyChap, and Amazon MGM Studios.

Tatum Grace Hopkins as Max

Tatum Grace Hopkins will make her television debut in "Life Is Strange." Her previous work includes Broadway productions such as "The Queen of Versailles" and "For the Girls," along with the short film "Meek."

Maisy Stella as Chloe

Maisy Stella, known as a musician, previously played Daphne Conrad on the ABC drama "Nashville." She also appeared in the feature film "My Old Ass" in 2024, earning an Independent Spirit Award, and Maude Apatow’s directorial debut, "Poetic License." Stella is also scheduled to appear in "Flowervale Street" later this year.

The Game Franchise Legacy

It was reported in January that "Life is Strange: Reunion," which concludes Chloe and Max’s story, will launch on March 26 on Xbox Series X|S and PC.

The first "Life Is Strange" game was released in 2015 and has since reached over 20 million players. The franchise includes several titles: "Life Is Strange: Before the Storm" (2017), "The Awesome Adventures of Captain Spirit" (2018), "Life Is Strange 2" (2018), "Life Is Strange: True Colors" (2021), and "Life Is Strange: Double Exposure" (2024), which featured Max again. The games were developed by Don’t Nod Entertainment and Deck Nine, with Square Enix as publisher.
