Perth Teen Charged After Park Incident
A 14-year-old boy in Perth has been charged with a sex offense following an incident at a park over the weekend. The charges stem from an alleged event at Butterworth Park in Koondoola.
Police reported charging the teenager with indecent dealings with a child under 13 and two counts of deprivation of liberty.
The alleged incident occurred on Saturday at Butterworth Park in Koondoola, around 5pm. An 11-year-old boy was reportedly playing basketball when the teenager allegedly attempted to lead him away from the park.
The younger boy reportedly sought assistance from a nearby group of individuals.
Police stated that the teenager then followed the boy as he walked through a laneway toward Waddington Crescent. The boy was eventually able to escape.
