Community Response to the Initial Ban
Discord users attempting to use the term "Microslop" reported immediate issues. Their messages were not publicly posted, and they received a notification stating the content was blocked as "inappropriate."
In response, users began to circumvent the filter by employing alternative spellings, such as "m1cr0sl0p," to continue their discussions.
Ban Reversal and Content Influx
Subsequently, server administrators reportedly removed the ban on the term. This decision, however, led to a dramatic shift in server content.
Following the removal of the ban, the server experienced an influx of posts containing "slop," encompassing AI-generated content and images associating Microsoft founders with controversial figures. This content was not confined to a single channel but expanded into other server areas, including "Copilot-in-Edge" and "#server-ideas." Discussions among users included suggestions for deleting the entire server due to the nature and volume of the new posts.
