Stance on Regional Relations and Strategic Warnings
Responding to inquiries about potential Iranian strikes in the Middle East, the minister stated Iran's desire for "the best of relations with our neighbors."
However, he also communicated a significant warning. He revealed that Iran had previously informed neighboring countries that any US or Israeli attack on Iran would lead to specific retaliation.
"Any US or Israeli attack on Iran would result in targeting American assets, the American military bases, in the region, wherever they are located."
He described these US bases as "legitimate targets in accordance with Article 51 of the (United Nations) charter." Article 51 grants states the right of self-defense, provided the force used is necessary and proportionate.
Internal Sentiment and Defense Readiness
The minister also conveyed the deep internal sentiment within Iran, stating that the people are "very angry" regarding the assassination of their supreme leader. He characterized this act as "naked aggression."
When questioned about Iran's ability to withstand potential US and Israeli attacks, he affirmed Iran's resolve, stating:
Iran "will defend ourselves to the best of our ability."
