Lenovo Unveils ThinkBook Modular AI PC Concept at MWC
Lenovo presented the ThinkBook Modular AI PC, a proof-of-concept laptop, at Mobile World Congress (MWC) in Barcelona, featuring an integrated second screen.
Lenovo has a history of showcasing various concept laptops. Previous models have included designs with transparent, rollable, swiveling, and expanding screens. While some of these concepts have become commercial products, the future of these new designs is not yet determined.
ThinkBook Modular AI PC: Key Features and Versatility
The ThinkBook Modular AI PC incorporates a unique second screen component. This screen attaches magnetically to the back of the laptop and connects via pogo-pin connectors. This design allows it to display content to individuals positioned in front of the main laptop screen, making it ideal for scenarios such as presentations.
Alternatively, the second screen can be detached from the back. A hidden kickstand can then be deployed from beneath the laptop. The secondary screen can then be magnetically attached to the main 14-inch display, allowing it to function as a traditional portable monitor. In this configuration, a USB-C cable connection is required.
For setups with limited desk space, the keyboard can be removed from the laptop base. The second screen can then be positioned where the keyboard was, automatically connecting via pogo pins. The Bluetooth keyboard can subsequently be used to type on this dual-screen configuration, which is similar to the Asus ZenBook Duo. The system is designed for portability and to enhance productivity while traveling, all while maintaining a manageable thickness and size for the laptop.
