The 1895 Holden prototype is recognized as the first two-wheeled British motorcycle.

This vehicle is also likely the earliest road-going vehicle of any category to be powered by a four-cylinder internal combustion engine.

Developed by Colonel Holden, this machine predated the mass-market automotive industry. Its mechanical blueprint was distinct from the Australian car manufacturer that later shared its name.

Bonhams Cars, the platform auctioning the vehicle, stated that it is likely the first Holden to have come to the market in a very long time.
