Mountaineering Ethics: UIAA Declaration Issued
Mountaineers are not subject to a formal code of conduct.
However, the International Climbing and Mountaineering Federation has issued an ethics declaration.
This declaration states that climbers engage in the activity at their own risk and are responsible for their personal safety.
It also advises mountaineers to be prepared to make compromises to balance the needs and abilities within a group.
