Hannah Green's Dominant Start to 2025
Australian professional golfer Hannah Green secured three significant victories on the LPGA Tour in early 2025, winning the JM Eagle LA Championship, the Women's World Championship in Singapore, and the Women's Australian Open.
LA Championship Victory
On April 19, Hannah Green won the LPGA's JM Eagle LA Championship at El Caballero Country Club in a playoff. She defeated South Korean golfers Sei Young Kim and Jin Hee Im by making a birdie putt on the first playoff hole.
All three players finished the 72-hole tournament at 17-under par. Green's final round was a 4-under 67.
During the final round, Green was six shots behind the leader after the 11th hole. She made five birdies on the back nine, including four consecutive birdies from holes 13 to 16, to enter the playoff.
This was Green's third consecutive victory at this event, having also won in 2023 and 2024. She also finished as runner-up in 2022 and tied for third in 2021.
The tournament's total purse was $4.75 million. Green received $712,500 for the win.
Sei Young Kim, who led by as many as eight shots during the tournament, shot a final-round 70. Jin Hee Im posted a final-round 67 to join the playoff after being assessed a one-stroke penalty for slow play during the third round.
Women's World Championship in Singapore
Prior to the LA Championship, Green won the Women's World Championship at Sentosa Golf Club in Singapore.
Entering the final round, Green and fellow Australian Minjee Lee were joint leaders at 11-under par. Green shot a 4-under 67 in the third round, while Lee posted a 68.
Green closed with a 3-under 69 to finish the tournament at 14-under par, securing a one-stroke victory over American Auston Kim.
Minjee Lee shot an even-par 72 in the final round to finish tied for third place at 11-under par with American Angel Yin and France's Pauline Roussin-Bouchard.
Green noted her comfort playing at Sentosa, where she also won the event in 2024 and was runner-up in 2021. Her husband, Jarryd Felton, caddied for her during the tournament.
Women's Australian Open Victory
Following her win in Singapore, Green won the Women's Australian Open at Kooyonga Golf Club in Adelaide.
Green finished the tournament at 11-under par, securing a one-stroke victory. She shot a 2-under 70 in the final round, making a birdie on the 16th hole and a bogey on the 17th before parring the 18th to win.
The victory made Green the first Australian to win the Women's Australian Open since Karrie Webb in 2014.
Australia's Cassie Porter shot a final-round 62, a new course record at Kooyonga, to finish tied for second at 10-under par with France's Agathe Laisne.
