The annual event highlighted advancements in mobile technology, including new smartphones, tablets, and developments in AI and robotics, primarily from manufacturers such as Xiaomi, Honor, and Tecno.

Xiaomi Unveilings

Xiaomi introduced several new devices at MWC 2026, spanning smartphones, tablets, and accessories.

Smartphones

  • Xiaomi 17 Ultra: This smartphone, initially launched in China in December, saw its global debut at MWC. It is rolling out in Europe, with US availability unconfirmed.
    • Developed in collaboration with Leica, the device features a photography-focused camera system: a 1-inch 50-megapixel camera sensor with an f/1.67 lens, a 200MP 1/1.4-inch telephoto setup, and a 50MP ultrawide camera. It also boasts an integrated manual zoom ring.
    • The phone includes a 6.9-inch OLED 120Hz display with 3,500 nits peak brightness and a robust 6000mAh silicon-carbon battery. It is priced starting at £1,299.
  • Leica Leitzphone by Xiaomi: This device, also a collaboration with Leica, shares similarities with the Xiaomi 17 Ultra. It features a 1-inch camera sensor and mechanical controls for zoom and settings via a ring around the camera unit.
    • The phone includes a Leica-designed camera interface, a monochrome shooting mode, and Leica filters.
    • It is equipped with the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chip and a 6.9-inch 120Hz display, priced at €1,999.

Tablets

  • Xiaomi Pad 8 and Pad 8 Pro: Both new tablets are notably thin at 5.75mm and weigh 485g, featuring a 9200mAh battery. The Pro model is powered by a Snapdragon 8 Elite chip, while the standard Pad 8 utilizes a Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 chipset.

Accessories

  • UltraThin Magnetic Power Bank 5000 15W: This power bank is just 6mm thick, features an aluminum alloy shell, and is available in orange, silver, and charcoal gray.
  • Xiaomi Tag: A Bluetooth item tracker with a built-in hanging loop, designed to integrate with both Apple Find My and Google's Find Hub for Android.

Honor unveiled new smartphones, tablets, and concept devices at the event.

Smartphones

  • Magic V6: This foldable smartphone is presented as the thinnest in its category, measuring 8.75mm folded and 4.0mm open in the white variant. Other colors (black, gold, red) are 9mm folded and 4.1mm open.
    • It features the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor, 16GB RAM, and 512GB storage.
    • The camera setup includes two 50-megapixel lenses, a 64-megapixel telephoto lens, and a 20-megapixel f/2.2 selfie lens on both displays.
    • Battery capacity varies by region: the international version will have a 6660mAh battery with 25 percent silicon content, while the China-specific version will exceed 7000mAh with 32 percent silicon content. Pricing and availability details are pending.
  • Robot Phone: Honor showcased a concept device featuring a camera mounted on a 4-degrees-of-freedom gimbal that retracts into the back. The camera demonstrated movements synchronized to music and gesture recognition.
    • The primary camera utilizes a 200-megapixel sensor. The gimbal offers three-axis stabilization, complemented by Super Steady Video and AI Object Tracking modes. The Robot Phone is slated for release later in 2026.

Tablets

  • MagicPad 4: Honor announced this tablet, stating it is the world's thinnest Android tablet at 4.8mm thick (excluding the camera bump).
    • It features a 12.3-inch 165Hz OLED display and weighs 450g.
    • Configuration options include up to 16GB of RAM and 512GB of storage.
    • It is powered by Qualcomm's Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 chipset and includes 13MP rear and 9MP front cameras.
    • The tablet features eight speakers for spatial audio and a 10100 mAh battery with 66W fast charging, running Honor's MagicOS 10. Pricing details are pending.

Robotics

  • Honor Robot: Honor introduced a humanoid robot at MWC, indicating plans for its application in industrial and domestic environments.

Tecno Concept Smartphone

Tecno showcased a modular concept smartphone design at MWC. The base configuration of the device is capable of a 4.9mm thickness.

This design incorporates "Modular Magnetic Interconnection Technology," allowing for the attachment of ten optional modules, including various camera lenses, a gaming attachment, and a power bank.

Other Mentions

Other companies also had presences at MWC. Nothing was expected to launch its Phone 4A series and new over-ear headphones. Vivo was scheduled to reveal its camera-centric X300 Ultra flagship device. Lenovo was noted for showcasing innovative concept devices.
