Tourist Dies in Phuket After Alleged Attack

An Australian-British tourist, Alan Roger Jolliffe, 57, has died in Phuket, Thailand, following an alleged attack.

The incident reportedly involved another foreigner on a street near Patong Beach on Wednesday.

Details of the Altercation

Unverified footage circulating on social media appears to show Mr. Jolliffe and a younger man engaged in an argument. A woman was also present, attempting to intervene.

During the altercation, as Mr. Jolliffe moved backward, the younger man advanced and allegedly struck him with an open hand to the chin. The blow caused Mr. Jolliffe to lose his sunglasses and a shoe, and he appeared to be rendered instantly unconscious. He remained unresponsive on the road, with the woman reportedly crouching to provide assistance.
